Janette is President of the Greater Port Macquarie Tourism Association  since 2010 . She has been active in the Association sine 1984.

She worked for Port Macquarie Panthers for 34 years as Community Relations/Marketing Manager and retired in 2011.

She is a member of the Port Macquarie Hastings Council Tourism Marketing Sub-committee.

She is involved with Bravehearts and many other Community Committees.

Janette is passionate about our local area, especially the opportunity to continue to grow Tourism, which is an integral contributor to our local economy.

She is a Life Member of Port Macquarie Panthers and the Port Macquarie Chamber of Commerce.

She was the Australia Day Citizen of the Year in 2019 for the Port Macquarie Hastings Region.

She was awarded the Dean Gorddard Award for Outstanding Contribution by an Individual to NSW at the 2019 NSW State Tourism Awards.

She is  a member of the GPMTA/PMHC Marketing Sub Committee.

In 2024 was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for her services to the Community.
