Meet Adam Button– GPMTA Board Member
Adam Button, long term board member of the Greater Port Macquarie Tourism Association and owner of Watershed Insurance Brokers.
Adam moved to Port Macquarie from Perth in 2009 and although not technically a local, lives here with his wonderful wife and three children.
Watershed Insurance Brokers specialises in Commercial Insurance, Adam has more than 30 years’ experience and access to more than 150 insurance providers. Adam has been a board member of the Tourism Association for more than 10 years and was also heavily involved in the Tourism and Hospitality industry in Western Australia.
In relation to the Tourism / Hospitality Industry, even from the early days Adam respected and admired the resilience and ability to adapt that the industry constantly shows. It is an industry that has a lot of external risk factors. Seeing the reaction and response of the operators from recent flooding, bushfires and the pandemic has taken that respect to a whole new level.
Adam believes the biggest benefit for a local business to be member of the GPMTA is that now more than ever as the industry goes through the process of rebuilding it needs to work together, Adam see’s the Greater Port Macquarie Tourism Association as the perfect conduit for this activity.
We asked Adam what were his favourite outdoor locations / events in the region?
Adam said…’the simple things in life do it for me, Town Beach, Lake Cathie pretty much any of our amazing locations by the water. Would love to see a pub here with an Ocean View one day! The Tastings on Hastings was a wonderful event in its day as is the Slice of Haven in Laurieton. Really looking forward to the Port Macquarie Eats Festival on at the racecourse this weekend’.
