There are currently nearly 3,900 jobs advertised across the NSW North Coast. One of the ways that this is being addressed locally is through the Local Jobs Program.
The Local Jobs Program brings together expertise, resources, and access to funding at the local level to support job seekers and their communities in each region. The program has a particular focus on reskilling, upskilling, and employment pathways and is part of supporting Australia’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the Mid North Coast, the program has had some recent success with placing 14 staff with Panthers. The program is run by Mr. Stephen Saunders and has a steering committee made up of local people including representatives from, Department of Education, Skills and Employment, Charles Sturt University, Men at Work, Department of Premier and Cabinet, and Business NSW.
